China stimulates responsible breakthrough in age-related diseases

In September 2026, the 7th TimePie Longevity Forum will convene in Shanghai, bringing together nearly 2,000 experts from science, healthcare, technology, and investors. The aim is to accelerate research into ageing and translate this into practical medical care. China is playing a significant role in this, partly due to the country's large and growing elderly population.

The country now has over 320 million people aged 60 and over, approximately a quarter of the total population. This is leading to a changing demand for healthcare, with a greater focus on chronic diseases, prevention and life-course guidance. Large hospitals and private clinics in China are opening special departments focusing on longevity and geriatrics.

Furthermore, China makes it possible to quickly test and apply innovative treatments and technologies from abroad. This attracts international longevity companies and researchers, who collaborate with local partners. The forum brings them together to exchange knowledge and experiences and to ensure a responsible and scientifically grounded application of new methods in the field of healthy ageing.

Alongside attention to proven research results, the Forum also discusses innovative ideas and practices that emerge outside traditional medicine. In addition, an annual report is published that provides an overview of developments in the field of longevity clinics and how they can function safely and effectively. This strengthens the foundation for reliable and accessible care for older people.

These developments are important for anyone who values healthy and active ageing. Through scientifically substantiated care and innovation, the chance of growing older with a good quality of life is increased.
