82-year-old grandma learns to swim and stays active in life

At the age of 82, Judy Miller decided to take on a new challenge: learning to swim. Together with her granddaughter Azza, she embarked on this extraordinary journey. Judy took swimming lessons, during which she practised floating, bobbing up and down in the water and rolling onto her back. This confirmed for her that it is never too late to try something new.

For many older people it is important to stay active, both physically and mentally. Judy shows that age does not have to be a barrier to learning new skills. Her granddaughter made a documentary about this process, which shows not only the learning process, but also Judy's positive attitude towards her body and ageing.

Judy advises everyone to be proud of their own body, despite the changes it goes through over the years. She says that the body does everything necessary to live, and that you can therefore get the best out of yourself. This courageous example shows that setting goals and persevering also provide a great deal of satisfaction at an older age.

Alongside swimming, Judy is also scheduled to learn how to ride a bike. By doing so, she demonstrates that pursuing new things enhances the sense of well-being and can contribute to a longer and happier life. Staying active and taking on new challenges are thus valuable elements of healthy ageing.
